The final list of Assam National Register of Citizens (NRC) with individual statuses of all the 3.30 crore applicants has been published online on September 14th, 2019. The individuals in Assam who had applied for the inclusion of their names in the NRC list can now check their status on the official website of NRC – www.thefinalnrc.in.
A total of 3,11,21,004 persons were found eligible for inclusion in the list whereas a total of 19,06,657 people were found ineligible including who did not submit claims in the last published updated NRC list on August 31st, 2019. The list includes the names of those who have been accepted as the citizens of Assam and excludes and those whose appeals and claims are pending.
The objective behind the updation of the National Register of Citizens NRC is aimed at setting apart Indian citizens living in Assam from those individuals who had illegally entered the state from the neighbouring country Bangladesh. The person who are excluded can approach the Foreigners’ Tribunals and appeal against their exclusions within 120 days of the publication of the final list.
” The 19 lakh people who were excluded from the list will have adequate legal options to contest their exclusion”, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar said.

1.) Visit the NRC website – www.nrcassam.nic.in
2.) Click on the tab saying “Results for all NRC applicants as per Draft”
3.) Enter your ARN number to check your name
4.) Enter the CAPTCHA code
5.) The names of the applicants whose names are included in the final Assam NRC list.
