BJP releases 1st list of candidates for Haryana polls : 78 candidates listed

After conducting the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of candidates for next month’s assembly election in Haryana. The BJP released list of 78 candidates, out of which 90 assembly seats for the October 21 vote.

In the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting, the candidates for Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections were also finalised.

According to the final list, Haryana CM ML Khattar will be contesting from Karnal. Wrestlers Yogeshwar Dutt and Babita Phogat will contest from Baroda and Dadri while former captain of India hockey team Sandeep Singh will fight from Pehowa. Seven existing MLAs including two Cabinet ministers Vipul Goel who represented Rao Narbir who was the legislator from Badshahpur, were not given any ticket while 38 sitting MLAs were given a ticket. The party also gave tickets to nine women and two Muslim candidates

The meeting was chaired by BJP president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. JP Nadda were also in attendance. Haryana is going to polls on October 21. The last day for filing nomination is October 4. The final results will be declared on October 24 after counting of votes.
