Cabinet Secretary asks State Police Chiefs to trace the Tablighi Jamaat Participants on War Footing
On April 01, 2020, Cabinet Secretary held meeting with Chief Secretaries / DGPs of all states via video conferencing and asked them to complete the contact tracing process of Tablighi Jamaat participants on a war footing.
COVID-19 cases related to the visitors of Tablighi Jamaat have crossed 380 countrywide. In Tamil-Nadu state more than 110 new cases tested positive and all are linked to Markaz Jamaat. Whereas total number of COVID-19 cases in India are nearly 1900 with 50 deaths.
On Wednesday, Health Minister of Delhi Satyendar Jain said that 32 cases tested positive in Delhi, 29 of them attended Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin. Tablighi Markaz have links with nearly 16 Masjids in Delhi.
It is expected that nearly 8000 people visited the Jamaat since January and then travelled to different parts of the country using trains, buses and other means.
Police and state administration are tracking the visitors of Tablighi Jamaat at war footing and also trying to take out the information about the trains by which attendees travelled and the passengers who may have come in contact with the Jamaat attendees.

In Maharashtra government has alerted all civic bodied and collectors and have asked for the search of nearly 480 people who attended Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin, Pune division have identified 90 of them.
Tablighi Jamaat building was accommodating more than 1800 attendees, including 216 foreign nationals, of religious congregation during lockdown period. After intervention of NSA Ajit Doval, Markaz building was vacated and those who were present inside the masjid were admitted/quarantined at different centers in Delhi.
