Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Says Talks With Pak Now Only On PoK

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday confirmed that talks with Pakistan will be held only on Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

After flagging off of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ here, some 20 kms from Chandigarh, while addressing the public defence Minister Rajnath Singh said “If talks are held with Pakistan, it will now be on PoK”.

BJP’s state election incharge and Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar were present at flagging off of the Yatra. His Cabinet colleagues also attended the event.

Rajnath Singh today said neither move of the government was made with any reference to elections.

A majority of nations agreed to the decision to end the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and dividing it into two union territories was a bilateral matter between New Delhi and Islamabad. Talking about the scrapping of Article 370 Rajnath Singh said “Our neighbour is knocking on the doors of the international community saying India made a mistake. Talks with Pakistan will be held only if it stops supporting terror”.

“People used to say that any move on Article 370 will divide the nation. We were told that BJP won’t come back to power after that. I want to tell you people that the BJP is not concerned about vote bank politics. We are more focused on the politics which is about national integration,” he added.
