Vidya Balan on Casting Couch : No opportunity big enough to compromise your safety

Actor Vidya Balan, talked openly about casting couch while sharing her experience. She opened up about an incident where she was made uncomfortable by a director. She warned all the young actors and told that young actors should never beg for the good work  who misuse their authority.

At the launch of a book on ISRO, when asked by journalist and documentary filmmaker Minnie Vaid, about her message was to upcoming actors who might face a similar situation, she adviced the budding actors. She said no opportunity is big enough for them to compromise on their safety.

“Honestly, I had forgotten about this incident because thankfully nothing happened. But that day in the course of the interview, I remembered after years. But I was very fortunate that nothing happened to me. There was no force. There was no molestation.

“But I do think no opportunity should be big enough for you to compromise on your safety. There’s lot of work out there. If you are good and if you believe in yourself, I think nothing is impossible. So, don’t give into people who use this as a bait,” Vidya Balan said.

Vidya Balan was last seen in film Mission Mangal co-starring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi and Nithya Menen. The film released on the 73rd Independence day. Vidya was appreciated for her performance in the film and received a lot of praise as well.
