Nirmala Sitharaman, the Defense Minister, asserted on Wednesday that India was fully ready to give a befitting reply to any attack and that the country was in safe hands.
Responding to questions about Indian air force releasing its two Sukhoi-30 fighter jets on Monday after a Pakistani drone was sighted along the LoC, Sitharaman told the reporters that, “I want to give this assurance that India and its forces are fully prepared and this is an example. We are ready to give a befitting reply to any attack like this. India is in safe hands.”
IAF had scrambled two Sukhoi-30 fighter jets after sighting a Pakistani drone along the Indo-Pak border a few days ago in the Khemkaran sector in Punjab. The drone however soon retreated to the Pakistani side.
Tensions have been running high between the two countries India and Pakistan following a suicide attack on an Indian paramilitary convoy (CRPF) last month, which killed 40 soldiers in Indian-administered Kashmir region of Pulwama.
