BSF on alert after Pakistan drone spotted near Ferozepur

The BSF is on alert as two high-flying drones are sighted near the Punjab border along Punjab’s Hussainiwala sector. The drones has been sighted four times on the Pakistani side, while once it was seen almost a kilometer inside the Indian territory near the HK tower border outpost, a BSF official confirmed.

“Last night between 10 pm and 10.40 pm, the troopers of 136 battalion of the BSF in Hussainiwala joint check post area sighted drone-type object five times. The object was seen four-time on Pakistan side while it entered into the Indian territory once, up to about one kilometre near border outpost (BOP) HK Tower area, adjoining Hussainiwala,” revealed official sources.

Another drone was again noticed by the BSF personnel at 12.25 am in the area of border outpost Basti Ram Lal, 18km from Ferozepur on Pakistan side.

Last month officials in security agencies and the Punjab Police have confirmed that at least eight drone sorties, carrying a total of 80 kg of weapons (arms and ammunition), were sent across the border into Punjab by Pakistan-based Khalistani terror groups between September 9 and 16.

The Army and Border Security Force (BSF) have announced an all-out alert along the entire Indo-Pak border and Line of Control (LoC). Taking serious note of Pakistan using Chinese drones to airdrop weapons in Punjab, the army have asked border-guarding troops and observation posts to keep an eye over air-intrusions in future.
