VHP says, solution of Ram Temple issues is not in waiting for court judgment, asks govt to enact law

On Monday, October 29, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) President Alok Kumar said that solution of Ram Temple issues is not in eternally waiting for court judgment and asked the government to enact a law to clear the path to build Ram temple in Ayodhya.

VHP Presidents remarks came after a three judge bench of Supreme Court, led by CJI Ranjan Gogoi moved the hearing on the case to January next year, saying that an appropriate bench will decide in January next year on the appeals filed against the Allahabad High Court verdict in Ayodhya land dispute case.

Kumar said, “The Supreme Court has once again adjourned the hearing. This fortifies the VHP’s stand that the solution to the Ram Janambhoomi issue is not in eternally waiting for hearing of appeals pending for over seven years. We reiterate our request to the Union government to enact a law to clear the way for building a grand temple of Lord Ram at his birthplace in Ayodhya”.

Earlier on October 18, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat demanded to enact a law through ordinance to clear the path to build the Ram temple at birthplace in Ayodhya, during his Vijayadashami speech.

Bhagwat said, “The construction of the temple is necessary from the self-esteem point of view, it will also pave the way for an atmosphere of goodwill and oneness in the country. The ‘janmabhoomi’ (birth place) is yet to be allocated for the construction of the temple although all kinds of evidence have affirmed that there was a temple at that place”.
