Man vs Wild starring Prime Minister Narendra Modi with TV host Bear Grylls

The episode of jungle survival programme ‘Man vs Wild’ starring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silver screen debut with TV host Bear Grylls. The programme broadcasted at 9 pm on the Discovery Channel, with showed Bear Grylls on an adventure with Narendra Modi in Uttarakhand’s famous Jim Corbett National Park.

“What better than the lush green jungles of India, in the midst of Mother Nature to throw light on environmental conservation and climate change… Do join at 9 PM tonight!”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a Tweet.

Bear Grylls, before the brodcast of the programme, while sharing the teaser of the episode tweeted last month, “People across 180 countries will get to see the unknown side of PM @narendramodi as he ventures into Indian wilderness to create awareness about animal conservation & environmental change”.

Grylls, earlier had celebrity guests on his show, including former American President Barack Obama.

On being asked by Bear Gyrlls to Narendra Modi about his childhood whether he feared anything in life or he felt nervous before a political rally, to which Modi replied that he never had a good answer about nervousness because it was not a part of his experience. “My problem is that I have never experienced such fears. I’m unable to explain it to people what nervousness is and how to deal with it because my in-built temperament is very positive. I see positivity in everything. And because of that reason, I am never disappointed.”

On being asked about the Modi about his dream of becoming a prime minister, to which Modi said that his focus has always been the development of the nation

“I was the Chief Minister of a state first. I worked as a chief minister for 13 years, which was a new journey for me. Then my country decided I needed to do this job. So I have been doing this for the last five years.

But the focus has been always been on one thing and that is development. And I am satisfied with that job. Today, if I consider this time as a vacation, then I must say I am taking a vacation for the first time in 18 years,” Modi said.
