Pakistan admits Jammu & Kashmir is ‘Indian state’ in a Pakistan FM after Anti-India Speech at UN Human Rights Body

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi described Jammu and Kashmir as an Indian state after the Anti-India Speech at UN Human Rights Body. Pakistan has so far been referring to Jammu and Kashmir as “India administered Kashmir”.

After addressing the UN Human Rights Commission, Qureshi spoke to media persons during which he made several claims and disproved allegations against India.

“India is trying to give an impression to the world that life has returned to normalcy. If the life has returned to normalcy, then why don’t they allow you, the international media, the NGOs, civil society organisations to go into the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and see for themselves what the reality is,” Qureshi told reporters after his address at the UN Human Rights Council.

Qureshi also criticised India for saying that after the scrapping of Article 370, which grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir, the situation in the region is  normal.

Earlier in his speech, the foreign minister demanded for an international investigation by the UNHRC into the situation in Kashmir and urged the world rights body not to remain “indifferent” after India granted Jammu and Kashmir’s special status. On the other hand, Pakistan has been trying to rake up the issue on the global stage, accusing India of human rights violation in Kashmir.
