Rahul’s gotra is Dattatreya, he is Kashmiri Brahmin, Priest says
Congress president Rahul Gandhi was a ‘janeu’ wearing man after his temple visit in Gujarat. Later, during his Mansarovar trip, he came out as a follower of Shiva. Now, in Rajasthan, the Gandhi heir made his ‘gotra’ public in the presence of a head priest.
“His gotra is ‘Dattatreya’ and he is a Kashmiri Brahmin. The like of Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, Maneka Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi have come and offered prayers at the ghat and it is recorded with us,” Dinanath Kaul, the priest, told reporters. The priest further presented documents showing the names of Rahul Gandhi’s ancestors who have worshipped at the Pushkar lake.
Congress leader CP Joshi had recently exclaimed that PM Narendra Modi, BJP MP Uma Bharti and Hindu activist Sadhvi Ritambhara were from “lower castes” and didn’t know anything about Hinduism. With the priest now revealing Gandhi’s gotra, it seems to be a direct response to the BJP’s stand of being pro-Hindu.
The priest also said that the Gandhis (Rahul Gandhi’s family) are Kashmiri Brahmins and are Kauls, and their Gotra is Dattatreya. More details here.https://t.co/BAKxlMNK8d

Rahul’s grandfather, Feroze Gandhi, was a Parsi and many priests say that a Parsi man does not have any gotra. Hence, it means that Gandhi has inherited his grandmother Indira’s gotra. The Congress President visited the Ajmer dargah and Pushkar before addressing election rallies.
