Regional Outreach Bureau spreads the message of Swachh Bharat through half Marathon
On Sunday, October 7, the senior officers from various departments from various departments of state and central government ran in Pune half marathon for the cause of ‘Swachh Bharat’.
The marathon was organized by the Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in association with Pune Road Runners group and other organizations. It was organized in three categories 21 km, 10 km and 6 km.
The India Post department released a special cover, to commemorate the efforts of government, on the occasion, “The cover is released to commemorate the efforts of the Government in bringing Peoples’ participation for the cause of Swacchh Bharat. Pune Half Marathon dated 7th October 2018, Sunday, is one such incident where various organizations/individuals came together with the Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of I&B , to create an awareness about the cause of Swachh Bharat. The run was organized in three categories of 21K, 10K and 6K with a participation of 2500+ runners from various walks of life. ‘I …am Running for Swacchh Bharat !’ was the tagline for the run!”.

On the success of the event, the event organizer and head of Regional Outreach Bureau Pune, Santosh Ajmera said that it was an effort to bring various organizations together to give a fillip to the Peoples’ movement for the cause of Swachh Bharat.
Ajmera said that ROB is looking forward to many more such events across the Maharashtra in coming year and he thanked to all the participants.
Four years has been completed to ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ on October 2, 2018. During this week most of the government departments and ministries took big initiatives to make India clean and green.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also attended Mahatma Gandhi International Sanitation Convention on October 2, during his visit to India.
