RSS has emerged as a force to be reckoned with, RSS chief says at ‘Bhavishya ka Bharat’ conclave
On Monday, September 17, 2018, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat sent a strong message to the nation through his speech, he said that government and politics might change, but social activities to remove the ills that have entered into the Hindu society will continue. Bhagwat was speaking on the first day of a three day conclave ‘Bhavishya ka Bharat – An RSS perspective’ being organized by RSS at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
In his speech, Bhagwat mentioned about the contributions and life of, KB Hedgewar, the founder of RSS, he spoke about the role of women in RSS and praised Sangh workers for their work towards social welfare. He said that RSS has emerged as a force to be reckoned with and believe in an Inclusive and not in an exclusive Bharat, and no organization in this country can match its high standards.
Bhagwat mentioned that RSS considers many leaders associated with congress movement during the freedom struggle as inspirations. He said, “Those who oppose us are also a part of us. They can criticize us, oppose us, but the criticism should be based on facts”.
During his speech Bhagwat made clear about the way of working and ideology of RSS, He said, “They see a sarsangachalak speaking and they think he speaks and everybody listens. It is not like that. Everything in the Sangh is decided by consensus. Even the name Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was selected when 16 people sat down and discussed three possible names”.

Bhagwat added, “The only duty of the RSS since its inception in 1925 was to create swayamsevaks strong in character and committed to Hindu values and the nation”.
RSS has its own flag, ‘Bhagwa Dhwaj’, and many times in the past questions has raised on view of RSS towards National flag. In his speech, Bhagwat clarified sangh’s view on the Tricolour and Bhagwa dhwaj (Saffron flag) and cited an example that how Sangh respects the Tricolour, “Once when the Tricolour was stuck in the middle of a flag-hoisting event by Jawaharlal Nehru, it was an RSS swayamsevak from Jalgaon who fixed it”. He said, “The bhagwa dhwaj, however, is a symbol of our reverence. It is in front of the dhwaj that swayamsevaks give their gurudakshina once a year. The Sangh runs with that”.
Political opposition parties of BJP have alleged RSS as ‘remote control’ since the BJP led government came in the center in 2014. On the ‘ remote control’ issue, Bhagwat said, “Coordination meetings between the RSS and BJP are held to share views and remind each other of our common ideals and values”.
