Tax raids on properties of close aids of Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath

The Income Tax department on Sunday conducted raids on residences and offices of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath’s nephew and two close aides.
Those raided were CM’s nephew Ratul Puri, officer on special duty (OSD) to Nath, Praveen Kakkar and a close associate RK Miglani.
Praveen Kakkar is Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD). Miglani was appointed an advisor to Kamal Nath when he took over as chief minister of Madhya Pradesh in 2018.

At around 3 am, a team of over 15 officers began searching Praveen Kakkar’s house in Bhopal. Along with the house, a showroom in Vijay Nagar and other places are being investigated.
“Black money worth crores was recovered during the Income Tax department raid at the house of private secretary of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath. This has made one thing clear that those who are thieves have a complaint against the watchman,” BJP’s national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said.
The I-T department is also conducting searches at about 50 locations in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh against people linked to CM Kamal Nath, according to PTI.
Nath’s nephew Ratul Puri was only last week interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate in Delhi in connection with the Rs 3,6000 AgustaWestland helicopters purchase probe.
