Trump Announces Ventilators Donation to India, PM Modi Tweets: More Power to India-US friendship
On Saturday, 16th May, 2020, The President of United States, Donald Trump announced his decision to donate ventilators to friends in India and emphasized that US and India are cooperating on vaccine development for COVID-19 virus.
President Trump said, “I am proud to announce that the United States will donate ventilators to our friends in India. We stand with India and @narendramodi during this pandemic. We’re also cooperating on vaccine development. Together we will beat the invisible enemy”

President Trump also hailed the strong friendship between US and India and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioning him a “good friend” and said that he spoke to PM Modi and US will be sending a lot of ventilators to India.
He said, “We are sending a lot of ventilators to India. I spoke to Prime Minister Modi. We are sending quite a few ventilators to India. We have tremendous supply of ventilators”.
Earlier on Friday Trump said, “India has been so great and as you know your prime minister has been a very good friend of mine. I just got back a short while ago from India and we are very much together”.
After announcement by US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked him and said that in the time of pandemic it’s important for the countries to fight together to make the world healthier and free from COVID-19.
PM Modi wrote on Twitter, “This pandemic is being fought collectively by all of us. In such times, it’s always important for nations to work together and do as much as possible to make our world healthier and free from COVID-19. More power to India-US friendship”.

As per government sources the consignment is expected to arrive by the end of the month or in the first week of June. The announcement came during the time when the total number of cases in India has crossed 85,000, surpassing the total number of cases in China.
