Dreamgirl Movie Review : Ayushaman Khurana yet another comedy film

Raj Shaandilyaa film starrer Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha’s is yet another comedy film. The film makes you laugh endlessly on genuinely hilarious jokes.

In Dream Girl, Ayushmann Khurrana plays Karam, an individual who is an expert in modulating his voice. The hero is heroine in the movie, when he turns Pooja to get a job at a friendship call centre. He entices men and women to talk to him in his melodious and flirtatious voice.

Pooja’s regular customers who regularly talk to him fall in love with the voice of Pooja and here the hilarious journey begins. The story moves forward with out-of-the-box punches and desi puns, which leave the audience laughing out loud. A part in the film comes with the song ‘Dil ka telephone,’ which brings all the desparate telephone customers together.

Charu Thakur gave the film 3 out of 5 stas. She wrote, “This comedy of errors starts on a promising note but loses its sheen in the second half. With too many plot twists, a variety of characters squeezed in and a sombre climax, Dream Girl fails to live up to its hype.”

Talking about the performances in the film, Charu Thakur wrote, “Ayushmann Khurrana and Annu Kapoor make up for it with their brilliant performances; reminiscent of Vicky Donor. Ayushmann once again proves that he can pull off any role with elan. He plays the character to perfection, getting the nuances right. Annu Kapoor’s brilliant comic timing makes Dream Girl an entertaining watch. His transformation from a lonely and disgruntled father to a lovelorn aashiq is absolute genius.”

The movie contains a message about the digita age. It talks about the extent of loneliness in the modern world where social networking sites blesses with abundant of friends on the social media platforms, the illusion of having numerous friendships while in truth most struggle to find even a single friend in their lives.
