Rahul Gandhi says, the day an enquiry starts on Rafale, PM Modi will go to jail

Congress President Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of breaking all procedures and laws to favour industrialist Anil Ambani in Rafale deal and said that PM Modi is a corrupt man and the day when enquiry in Rafale deal will open, Modi would go to jail.

When asked by Economic Times whether his phrase like ‘Chowkidaar Chor Hai’ used against PM Modi would go down well with the public, Gandhi said, “Mr Modi is not called a corrupt man, he is a corrupt man. Let’s not be confused. The Rafale case is an open and shut case. The day an inquiry starts on Rafale, it is only a question of time that the PM will go to jail. Nothing less”.

He said, “In all likelihood, an enquiry is going to start in France on Rafale issue… Modi broke every single procedure and law to favour Anil Ambani”.

Gandhi said that the issue with Modi is to save himself that is why he removed the director of CBI who was appointed by himself. He said, “They know that if an inquiry starts in Rafale, the day one paper comes out, only two names will be written on it – Narendra Modi and Anil Ambani. Now, the issue is not just to win the election, but to save himself too. That is why the CBI chief was removed at 2 AM. This is the same CBI chief that Modi had himself appointed”.

Congress President earlier alleged that PM Modi snatched the Rafale offset order worth of Rs. 30,000 crore from state owned Hindustan Aeronautical Limited and gave it to Reliance Group and demanded for an enquiry in the matter. Congress blames that Rafale deal is the biggest scam in the defence purchase.
