Filing a criminal defamation suit for maximum damages against Rahul Gandhi: Shivraj Singh

On Monday, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that he going to file a defamation case against Congress President Rahul Gandhi as Gandhi have been making false allegations of Vyapam to Panama Papers against him and his family.

Shivraj Singh wrote on twitter, “Mr@RahulGandhi you have been making patently false allegations of Vyapam to Panama Papers against me and my family. Tomorrow (Tuesday), I am filing a criminal defamation suit for maximum damages against you for frivolous and malafide statements”.

In an election rally in Jahbua, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the government didn’t take any action against Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his family even after the name of his son came in Panama Papers.

Gandhi said, “Name of the son of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan surfaced in the Panama papers, but no action was taken. Even a country like Pakistan punished its former PM when he was named in the Panama papers”.

He said, “Udhar Chowkidar, Idhar Mamaji. Mamaji ke jo bete hai, Panama Papers me unka naam nikalta hai”.

Gandhi added, “The name of former Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif appears in Panama Papers. In a country like Pakistan, he is jailed. Here, the name of the son of a CM figures in Panama Papers but no action is taken”.

Gandhi said that CBI enquiry was demanded in Vyapam case as nearly 50 persons, related to the Vyapam scam, were killed but the director of CBI have been removed by Modi.

He said, “Nearly 50 persons were killed in the aftermath of Vyapam scam. The state’s education infrastructure has been finished. They talk of dharma but their dharma is corruption. They did not spare even the Kumbh. There was corruption in (Simhastha) Kumbh…the cost was inflated nearly 10 times. There was a demand for CBI inquiry…but even the CBI Director has been removed by Modi”.

Later Rahul Gandhi gave explanation on his remarks on Vyapam and Panama Papers saying that he got confused because of so much corruption in BJP. He said, “There is so much corruption in BJP that I got confused. The Madhya Pradesh CM has not done Panama but he has done e-tendering and Vyapam scam”.
