“I’m A Mother”: Priyanka Gandhi’s Counter At Smriti Irani’s Attack On Children Video

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was attacked by Smriti Irani over a viral video in which children abuse Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the formers’ presence.

Priyanka retorted angrily on Friday as she said that, “I am a mother, how can I instill wrong values?”

Speaking to ANI, Irani said: “Priyanka makes children abuse. She asked them to abuse Prime Minister Narendra Modi. You cannot use children for political campaigns. What will they learn? I will ask all cultured families to keep their children away from her. I am happy that the family claiming to be cultured now stands unmasked.”

“I am a mother, I will not teach anything wrong. I spent my life raising children, I didn’t even get into politics all this time because I was looking after my children…so will I teach wrong values,” Priyanka Gandhi said, speaking to NDTV at Raebareli, where she is currently campaigning for her mother Sonia Gandhi.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has issued a notice to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra over alleged use of children in election campaigning.

In the video taken in Amethi, Priyanka Gandhi is seen smiling as a group of children shout slogans like “Chowkidar Chor Hai“. When the children use an abusive word for PM Modi, the Congress leader is seen reacting with shock and is heard saying that, “Ye wala nahi, accha nahi lagta. (Not this one, does not sound good).”

Priyanka Gandhi is the Congress’ General secretary in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh, where Irani and Rahul Gandhi are both in the race for the Amethi seat.

Amethi goes to polls on May 6. Counting of votes will be held on May 23.
